13:20 the tour-leader is waiting for you at the reception, near EME2016 staff desk, in the main lobby of the hotel.
13:30 departure by private bus from Hotel BHR to Venice Tronchetto park. Along the way the tour-leader gives you some useful information regarding your city tour in Venice. Arrival in Venice. All on board of the comfortable private boat to Riva degli Schiavoni, close to St. Mark’s square (Piazza San Marco)! We sail towards the Canale della Giudecca and arrive in the St. Mark’s basin where the boat will stop few steps after St. Mark’s square, Riva degli Schiavoni. Disembark, follow Rossella Monaco and meeting with the guide that is waiting for us.
The guide will briefly explain the history and the main architecture of Piazza San Marco with the external view of the Basilica, the Belltower and the Sospiri Bridge. You’re guide will show you the Doge’s Palace from the outside. This was the house of the government and the heart of the Venetian Republic. We walk towards Rialto Bridge, stopping near the place where Marco Polo, the famous Venetian explorer lived, pass through the covered walk (sotoportego) and Courtyard of the Milion. We move on and we reach the Rialto Bridge, the most famous among the bridges that cross the Great Canal in Venice, the main water way of the city, heart of commerce and place where the famous fish market takes place every day.
17:00 end of the guided tour. Your shuttle coach will be leaving from Tronchetto park to BHR Hotel at 19:00, please be there on time.
Very important:
Please be ready at the reception near our desk 10 minutes ahead of schedules at the latest. Kindly wait for the tour leader to form the group and call for your party name (that may be the name of the delegate and not yours, even if not participating to the tour). For all tours, we suggest use of sneakers or walking open shoes and light clothing. A hat and sunscreen will be a good idea if the sun is shining. Do not forget to bring some drinking water, backpack and extra cash, since credit cards are not everywhere accepted. Entrance in the museums and in some churches you may want to visit (if not already included in the program) are subject to a dress code, and often require a fee.

OPTIONAL FREE TIME IN VENICE: enjoy more time in Venice on your own (return trip cost at your expense). Please inform your tour leader in advance (if possible) if you decide not to take your reserved shuttle coach to go back. The best would be by train to Treviso (last trains are at 23.04 and 00.15). From Treviso station you may take a taxi or public bus n. 11 to Paese, the stop is in front of the trade center (Centro Commerciale La Castellana) near the hotel (rides are every 30 minutes, last ride at 20.45).
